DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIALTY COATED FABRICS FOR CANOPY OF INFLATABLE MILITARY TENT (IMT) FOR FOREST AREA

The principal objectives of this present work were to develop novel coated fabrics in olive green (OG) colour serve as canopy for inflatable military tent (IMT) forest area. Two varieties developed by coating specific grade aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) on Nylon and one more with plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) Polyester fabric. construction parameters properties the substrate basic used evaluated reported. various functional such breaking strength elongation%, tear strength, bursting waterproofness, flame retardancy, flexing, accelerated ageing (-400C 700C), blocking, ultraviolet (UV) radiation protection fastness washing light measured reported details, along an elaborate note preparatory process pursued development these fabrics. most suitable fabric IMT was selected based features. Further, thermal analysis carried out using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) assessing its heat resistance. shelf-life assessed evaluating residual (tensile bursting), subjecting it natural weathering tests. A special device fabricated carry test. Statistical performed at 95% significance level estimate actual bursting) loss upon weathering.
